<div>I’m Jon. I’m raising funds to help my son, Zach, and myself relocate after being forced out of our home, and to make a dent in overwhelming medical debt from an emergency hospitalization.

<div>In the months since they moved in, there have been regular disturbances and problems caused by the upstairs tenant(s):
</div>

<li>Smoking in the house.

<li>Numerous people who aren’t on the lease living with them.
</li>
<li>Constant noise and commotions at all hours.
</li>
<li>People arguing and physically fighting.
</li>
<li>Responding to our protests with physical threats.
</li>
<li>Trash and cigarette butts all over the yard.
</li>
<li>Suspected damage to the house itself, causing water to leak into our apartment.

<div>I’ve lodged several, repeated complaints with the landlord, and made countless calls to GBPD, who have since been labeled the house as a nuisance property.

<div>Zach and I couldn’t get a decent night’s sleep or a moment of peace and quiet during the first couple months of them living here.
</div>

<div>The landlord initially didn’t do anything except dole out multiple, repeated threats of eviction to the people upstairs, which he ultimately promised to do once GBPD stepped in and demanded the problem be dealt with. After being pressured to follow through with that promise while the problems continued, the landlord - seemingly out of sheer petulance - purchased the house from the property management company (that he already owns a controlling stake in), issued notices of non-renewal to all tenants, and is kicking everyone out - Zach and myself included.

<div>I stand by my suspicion that the landlord’s actions are retaliatory. All we wanted was some peace and quiet, and to not have to breathe cigarette smoke. Those are not unreasonable expectations.

<div>In October of 2025, I was hospitalized with a severe infection and required emergency surgery. I had three molars removed, drains placed in my neck, and spent a week in the hospital on heavy antibiotics. I came dangerously close to being septic.

<div>I had no insurance at the time. My current state coverage will not assist with these bills due to last year’s income.

If I can whittle these bills down to a few thousand dollars, I can handle the rest myself once I get back on my feet.</strong>

<div>Paul’s Pantry is a local Green Bay charity and food bank that is very near and dear to Zach and I. Without their help, I don’t think we would have been able to get by this past year. Paul’s Pantry is an invaluable resource to the local community, and I am more than happy to donate excess funds to them, so they can help other families in need.

</div>
<div>Zach is 19. He recently graduated high school and is pursuing work in welding. He is autistic and benefits from guidance and stability as he transitions into adulthood. Despite the challenges, he is my best friend, and has been my rock through my hospitalization and the crisis at home.

<div><strong>Current Reality, and Full Disclosures</strong>
</div>

<li>We are facing displacement with no financial cushion.
</li>
<li>I’ve been unemployed since mid-November, and actively interviewing. I haven’t gotten any offers, but I feel like I should find work any day now.
</li>
<li>I feel like ongoing stress and sleep disruption from the problems at home have impacted my job search efforts.
</li>
<li>The unemployment I’m collecting has only been enough to cover necessary bills.
</li>
<li>I haven’t done my taxes yet. I don’t expect to get much back, but any return that I get will be allocated to our moving fund.
</li>
<li>Two of the medical bills listed above, HPS and Prevea, are from before my hospitalization. I had payment plans in place and was chipping away at them until I lost my job. Since then, I’ve been unable to fulfill my promises to make regular payments on them.
