Help Jon Welsh TCOB (Take Care Of Business)


Picture that friend you’ve had since age 12. That friend who was a true ‘nice guy’ in every sense of the word. Great manners. Great family. The guy that would call (before cell phones) after you got home to make sure you got home safe and to thank you for coming over. The guy you’ve never really heard say a bad word about anyone and and always stuck up for the underdog. Now picture he’s 46 years old with a wife and 2 beautiful kids and finds out he’s got
Stage 4 Stomach Cancer :(  

Obviously cancer sucks when anyone gets it... but Jon?! Damn. 

He is staying strong. He is staying positive. He is not giving up hope (and neither are we) and still exploring options. But the prognosis is not good. He has recently had to go to the US for a very expensive treatment which wasn’t available to him in Canada, and he’s likely going to have to go back for it again. He’s hoping to get some of those costs recouped from OHIP, but in addition to these medical costs we’re hoping to raise other money for him. Money so that he can take his son to a Raptors Game, his daughter to a concert, his family on vacation. Whatever. Take the wife to Vegas and go see Mötley Crüe! Just live. Live life and enjoy it while he can without having to worry about money. It’s likely he will have to get more medical treatment that is not covered by OHIP, he might want to set something aside for his kids. Our goal is to raise enough money that he has options.

Jon has always been the type of guy to go out of his way to help others. We may not be able to fix this horrible turn of events, but if we all pull together and do what we can to take away any financial worries we’ve done something.
