<div>Hey everyone our names are Emily and Ashton. As some of you may know our uncle Rickey Garner and our 14 year old cousin Johnny have been going through a very terrifying time this past month. Johnny was recently diagnosed with what they believe is a JNA( juvenile Nasopharyngeal angiofibroma) which in smaller terms is an aggressive vascular tumor that is non cancerous however still very serious.

<div>The treatment is going to be a procedure to cut off the artery feeding the tumor and then a surgery to remove the tumor. These two surgerys are scheduled to be done at Vanderbilt in Nashville on the 16th and 17th of Janurary. Then they will have to stay in a hotel even after he is released to be able to follow up and stay close to the doctor doing the surgery incase of any complications.

<div>With all of this going on Rick has been trying to handle work, schooling for nurse practitioner, and clinicals. And is obviously looking at not being able to work until Johnny has fully recovered. Rick is one of the most outgoing, motivated, and supportive people I know. He currently has a bachelor’s in nursing and is still continuing his education to become a nurse practitioner. Even after 12 years of being a paramedic and seeing many things, it doesn’t compare an inch to when it’s your own child. He has dedicated his life to caring for others and being there for others during their worst times and I believe now is the time when he needs others to be here for him. If you know Rick and Johnny they are not ones to ask for much, they know prayers will always be worth way more than money

<div>We want to ask friends, family and the community around Rick and Johnny to donate what they can to help go towards the cost of 2 surgeries (which we don’t know the final cost yet but his part we know is going to be at least 20% of everything), follow up appointments,hotel costs, food, gas, and his own personal bills that is going to be very hard to manage when having to keep up with school work and clinical so he can still graduate in May. He is an absolute amazing dad and we believe he needs to be able to not have the added financial stress on top of how scary this is going to be already.
