Help John Jr.'s Family

April 24 seemed like any other day for John Middleton, partner in Sail Annapolis, as he worked to ready a new boat for delivery. Catastrophically, as he worked, a brain bleed would render him unconscious and begin what has been a fight for his life. After 38 days in ICU and a worsening prognosis for any real recovery, John fought his way to consciousness and has continued to amaze doctors, family and friends with his return to awareness. On June 6th John was transferred to a long term  skilled nursing/rehab center where the next big battle will be to regain physical control of his body ravaged by weeks of unconsciousness and his inability to move.

Julie, his wife and children Rebecca and John III have been by his side throughout and along with his many, many friends, his family in Michigan and her's in California, have supported his physical and emotional journey. The medical aspect is just the beginning of challenges as his family struggles to manage what will be devastating medical bills for treatment already rendered and his upcoming rehabilitation that will most certainly be at least through the end of the year, not to mention the family's  financial burden of the loss of John's income as a self-employed business owner. 

We are overjoyed by his return to consciousness, and thankful for all the prayers that have been offered for his recovery, but the stark reality is that John and his family will need additional financial support. We are reaching out to John's large group of friends, colleagues, fellow boating and hunting enthusiasts in our hope that those who are reading this message will be able to offer some assistance, no matter how small the amount.
