<div>Hi my name is John Robertson and it is with deep sadness and heartache that I am here.

<div>I am first a father and a husband. I am 35 years old from Ayr in Scotland. I am a father of 3 amazing gifts I have been blessed with, Jorja 15, Paris-Cole 8 and Clay-Ty 4. Husband to my absolute rock and best friend Nicole. It is for them I find myself sitting here typing my heartbreak.

<div>At the beginning of February 2026 I began struggling to swallow food as it was getting trapped on the way down. On many occasions I had to force the food back out to relieve the pain and get rid of the blockage. Fast forward a few months and the pain began. I was experiencing a severe crushing pain located in the centre of my chest that would cause me to have to lay on the flood and pray that it would pass. This pain was then joined by a tightening around my ribcage, like someone was pulling a belt tight wrapped around me. My wife pushed me to go to the GP, as I kept saying "it will pass". I went, the GP heard about my symptoms and weight loss and fast tracked an endoscopy to be performed. During the endoscopy, the oncologist discovered a bleed and a mass tumor at the bottom of my esophagus covering 75%. I was then sent for a CT scan whilst we waited for the biopsies to return. Once all of the results had returned, I was invited into the hospital for a chat to go over the results, and on the 24/06/26 I was met with the most devastating, world crushing news. I have stage 4 esophogeal adenocarcinoma. Terminal esophogeal cancer, and it has spread to multiple parts of my body including my liver. My world fell apart, I have always worked in manual labour roles, kept very fit and healthy and active with the kids, and then to be told I could only have 9 months left to live. It doesn't make sense, looking at me and hearing my story, they don't marry up.

<div>My kids do not deserve to lose their dad at such young ages, I have 2 daughters and a son to watch grow up and help them up when they fall and help guid them through this life.
</div>
<div>To know that I may not be here to walk my daughter's down the aisle, to watch my son grow into the gentleman he is already becoming is not fair and I refuse to believe that my time is almost over. My wife and I have a life we are supposed to be living together and that is being stolen from me.
</div>
<div>My current situation is an almost completely liquid diet as I cannot swallow solids foods any more. There is current discussions of fitting a feeding tube to try and help with nourishment, and a stent has been ruled out incase they need to take any more biopsies as the stent would be covering the tumour.
</div>
<div>I have all the reasons in the world to fight, and that is what has brought me here, to ask you to fight with me.
</div>
<div>The funding I generously and graciously receive will be going to,

<li>Fund private medical treatments and trials not currently offered on the NHS

<li>Flights and accommodation whilst going through said treatments
</li>
<li>Help ease stress from my family and help with my quality of life
</li>
<li>To help me make important and vital memories for my kids and family as I am not the only person attempting to navigate through this horrible situation
</li>
<li>I am currently awaiting to hear back if I have been accepted for trials in both Germany and London and now Dublin
