Help John Document the Border

Donation protected
Hi everybody, my name is John Kurc and I am using drone video and DSLR cameras to document the building of the 30-foot border wall along the Arizona-Mexico border. But I need your financial support as soon as possible.

I was a concert and wedding photographer; it was work that I loved. But when the pandemic hit, my business came to a screeching halt. That was in March of 2020.

Now unemployed, I started to think about continuing a project started in 2019 documenting the peaceful wild places along the border between the U.S. and Mexico. I packed up my Honda and drove to Zapata, Texas, to hop on the border road and drive to San Diego. Most of the primitive border road has no fencing or barrier. I have driven over 1000 miles, and I have seen great beauty. And I have seen death. But I have not yet seen anyone trying to cross illegally into the United States.

When I saw the terrible destruction taking place from the building of the border wall, my original project was put on hold. I am now focusing on documenting the border wall construction in Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge, the San Pedro River, Coronado National Monument, and Guadalupe Canyon, near the San Bernardino Wildlife Refuge.

At the moment, I am filming every day in Guadalupe Canyon,  recording dynamite blasts. The dynamite is gouging into pristine mountain ranges and canyons, while construction depletes precious aquifers. It is vitally important to document this activity, to show people elsewhere what is being lost. I am asking for your financial help so that I can keep filming.

I share the videos and photos with independent filmmakers, the Sierra Club, the Center for Biological Diversity, and media outlets. Together we can help others witness what is being lost as these precious oases are drained and wildlife refuges destroyed. Your donations will allow me to continue documenting this tragedy in hopes that we may stop it.

The content I am recording and sharing is starting to gain attention in the USA, Mexico, and Europe. I thank you for caring about these remote and rugged places. These ancient lands are sacred to indigenous people and home to wildlife of every kind, and they are the legacy of the future. Help me to stop the destruction by revealing the truth.

Peace,

John
