<div>On May 3, 2026, my sister Marcy and her husband Joe were involved in a devastating scooter accident in Freeport, Bahamas after being hit by a car.

<div>Joe’s injuries are severe. He suffered a brain bleed, multiple skull and facial fractures, and an open fracture of his right leg.

<div>At the scene, Marcy held his head together on the side of the road for nearly 40 minutes waiting for an ambulance, not knowing if he would survive.

<div>Joe is currently conscious and stable, but his condition is serious. He experienced seizure activity after the accident and is being closely monitored.
</div>

<div>The level of care he needs, including orthopedic surgery and continued neurological care is not available locally. There is no orthopedic surgeon available for over a week, and Joe cannot safely wait. So, he needs to be transported to Orlando, Florida as soon as he is medically cleared.

<div>Marcy and Joe were unable to return to their cruise ship and are now stranded in the Bahamas without medical or travel insurance.
