I am starting this go fund me on behalf of my brother, Joe. First of all, I want to start by saying that Joe is the most kind-hearted person I have ever known. I have looked up to him through all stages of his life as someone who has been unconditionally compassionate, loving, and selfless – always putting the needs of others before his own. My brother has had an unordinary life, full of challenges and obstacles that not many face, but without a doubt, he has overcome them with such a strong mind and kind heart. Over the last few years, Joe has found the love of his life, worked towards finishing his bachelor’s degree, and become an active member of his church where he teaches and counsels others in need. While everything seemed like it was really starting to fall into place in Joe’s life, he began developing physical symptoms that became cause for concern. After a series of exams and doctor visits this spring, we learned that Joe has Multiple Sclerosis.
When he was initially diagnosed in May, it really shook my world and everyone around us. However, his demeanor through his diagnoses and adjustment to a life with MS has been nothing short of inspiring. Instead of showing understandable signs of fear, or even bitterness, he has remained so optimistic and unaffected.
While conventional medicine can work to some degree to ease symptoms through prescription medication, there is no pill or easy fix to reverse MS. We want to dive in deep and find the root cause of his condition, pursuing a more holistic approach through the methods of functional medicine. That is why we are asking for your help - so Joe can learn how he came to this point in developing this disease and hopefully put it into remission.
