Help Joe and Pam fix their home

Donation protected
Hurricane Michael plopped a giant pine tree right across the home of our dear friends Joe and Pam Mezzina, causing up to $45,000 of damage. When they called to report the damage to their insurance company they were perplexed to hear that their home insurance had lapsed due to non payment for two months. This was shocking and seemed impossible to Joe and Pam as their payment was regularly paid for many many years to the same insurance company by an auto charge to their credit card each month.

In a series of unfortunate events, Joe’s wallet had been stolen from his shop two months ago. It turns out that the credit card that regularly paid his insurance bill was among the cards they had to have replaced. Often when this happens, the new credit card account will take over any auto pay bills. Unfortunately this did not happen and at a time when they were getting their youngest off to college, it was a detail that was missed. An Email notice of cancellation has not been found, although the insurance company says they sent one. They are trying to fight the insurance company at this time, showing police records of the reported stolen card, but frankly they have no expectation of success.

Pam and Joe know there is so much need right now all up and down the coast and beyond. Still, friends and family have been reaching out and asking how they can help Joe and Pam directly and so we have set up this page. If you know Joe and Pam, you know they are the first to reach out to others in need. Pam has dedicated her life to Hospice and counseling in nonprofit organizations and Joe (Joe’s Bike Shop) is a generous local business owner who is always there for everyone in need. We all have our Joe and Pam stories of how they were there for you in a time of need.  I know that Pam has helped me during times of grief when I lost my parents and friends and I cannot count the number of times Joe has helped me and my family move things and fix things. He has been a go-to guy for everyone.  As a business owner of Joe's Bike Shop, he has donated countless times to local organizations. All funds raised will be used to rebuild the infrastructure and roof.  Lets show them some community support and help them get their home fixed.
