An update from Jen and Amy:

***Jim’s battle with cancer isn’t going very well and he had to move to comfort care. Yesterday, the place he is at informed us that we should look for another place because his fight is going on too long. So sad. He wouldn’t be comfortable at home and insurance doesn’t pay for other places for him to go so it would be fully out of pocket. We want him to remain comfortable for as long as he needs/wants to be here. It breaks our heart that he is going through this but we want to make sure his final days are as comfortable as possible.****

***I am starting this on behalf of my best friend, Jennifer, whose stepdad, Jim, is in need for his medical care, as she has discussed below. ***

Hi everyone! We are starting this page to help raise money for someone incredibly near and dear to our hearts who was diagnosed with a rare form of Bile Duct Cancer, known as cholangiocarcinoma.

Jim is an amazing husband, father/stepfather, a brother, coworker, and friend. Someone who would do anything for anyone, and now it's our turn to help him.

This past week has been hard for him and he is currently struggling in the hospital and was laid off at his job recently. Treatment has made him extremely weak and has had to stop treatment for the cancer (and the treatment was helping). The treatment has caused some issues with other organs that contribute to the weakness. He will need to go to a rehab facility to try to regain strength and be able to resume treatment again. This is all happening so fast and we want him to focus on getting strong and not worrying about everything else.

In order to help alleviate financial stress during this time we are opening this page to allow everyone who has reached out a place to donate. We will be posting updates as his journey continues and want to thank everyone for their love and support as Jim continues to fight this battle.
