Help Jim Get Back On His Feet Fund

This is for Jim Turner, a fellow sharpener who owns and operates Scissor Magic.  He has been sharpening since he was 9 years old. I first met Jim years ago when we attended the Sharpeners Jam soon after we got started in the business. I haven't seen Jim around many sharpening events recently and I just found out why.  I had called to talk with him about the sharpening event in May that he and his wife Shannon are putting together, The Sharpeners Rodeo. When our conversation drifted around to other business and personal topics I learned that Jim sustained an injury that severly impacted his ability to work.  I won't get into details because they are personal and his to share, not mine.  But anyone who owns their own business that depends on your physical ability to do the job, like all of us sharpeners, will understand how devastating an injury can be on your business and your family.  Jim hasn't been able to go to the sharpening events around the country like he used to because of his injury so he decided to host one of his own close to his home town so he could continue to share his vast knowledge with other sharpeners and be a part of the comraderie and enjoy the kinship that can only come from being with like minded folks. Jim still isn't back to his regular self and his business is still recovering yet he is taking the time and making an effort to host an event to help others.  That kind of selflessness and dedication to the sharpening community has touched me and inspired me to try and help them.

We take care of our own. Let's help get Jim back on his feet so he can focus on doing what he loves...sharpening.
