Help Jill be with her sick son
Donación protegida
Our friend Jill, a single mother, works two jobs and her son Josh is very sick in the ICU. Jill needs some help with money for gas and food so she can visit her son every day until he gets better. Then she can go back to working her two jobs.
Jill has to drive from Alabama to Pensacola, a one-hour drive each way, to visit her son in the hospital. But she’s not allowed to stay overnight in his room. She can’t spend every day with him, and she also can’t get to both of her jobs right now, because of the days she does spend with him.
She says, “I know that being here for him is extremely important to him and me. His heart is not good right now and he needs to get better. Every moment counts. I just want to be with my son. Sometimes he’s crying, and I don’t want to leave.”
Josh has pneumonia in both lungs, and his immune system is severely compromised with Still’s Disease, the juvenile arthritis he’s had since he was three. The pneumonia has affected his heart and one of his valves needs to be replaced. (He was born with a heart murmur.)
It’s hard for Jill to ask for help because she’s always been very financially independent. After some persuasion, she agreed to let her friends put this page together for her. Please help her be by her son’s bedside until he’s better.
Thank you for reading this, and for helping Jill be with Josh.
