Help Jflex Find a Home!

Donation protected

Pro Tristate Melee player Jacob "Jflex" Pinto has always stood out in the scene as one of the hardest working competitors we have to offer. Starting in 2012, he rose through the ranks by tirelessly attending tournaments and grinding practice at home. At one point in his career, he was attending 3-4 tournaments a week and hosting training sessions for players of every skill. Not only did he do whatever it took to be the best, he gave back to the community in dividends. At the end of every tournament, you can always find Jflex in the corner money matching anyone who asked for hours before he drove back home. After 6 years of hard work, he became the best NJ, a crowd favorite, and a MIOM Top 100 player.

What people don't know about Jflex is that he's never played Melee full time, despite the hours he puts in. He worked full time as a bouncer and has been shuffling through jobs that fit his schedule ever since. He does this because he is the sole provider for his girlfriend and child. While Melee is a big priority for him, his family and finances have always come first.

Unfortunately, we haven't seen Jflex at events and his ranking has dropped. This didn't happen intentionally. After lending money to a friend who has yet to contact him after Jflex moved, he's facing some financial struggle. Jflex is currently looking for a second job(he already has a night job) to help support his family. But without a place to stay and this recent blow to his funds, he needs the community more than ever.

He is asking for $1500 as soon as possible(this donation drive will last for a month).  Once he gets back on his feet, he will do anything to give back to the community in tournament winnings/etc.  There will be incentives for anyone who is willing to donate. As a member of the NJ community(and the whole community can attest to this), Jflex will play anyone regardless of skill. He has trained dozens of players in his years in the community. I promise you he will fulfill these incentives, I wouldn't trust anyone more.

And lastly, from me, please donate whatever you can. I (Ryobeat), will give any incentive if you ask me to. Jacob is a long time friend of mine and despite our rivalry in terms of competing for the best in NJ, he's one of the first players to help me learn, even when I was 14. It really sucks to see someone you've known for 5 years struggle like this, and I wouldn't wish this on any other community member.

Thank you for everything in advance, let's help our boy out <3
