Help Jessica to re-home Oscar to his furever home

Donation protected
We have now hit the target a massive thank you to everybody who donated, you have no idea how happy you have made Jessica, and Oscar is going to be very happy in his new furever home.

Any extra money donated will be donated to the pet rescue centre to help rehome other dogs just like Oscar.

We are trying to help an 11 year old girl to find a dog companion. Jessica lives with her mother Emma, who had been seeing her boyfriend for a couple of years, although they didn’t live together. He bought a puppy and the puppy lived with Emma and Jessica. Jessica fell in love with the puppy and they spent every day together. Unfortunately, the relationship between Emma and her boyfriend came to an end when the puppy was four months old. As he had paid a lot of money for the puppy he took it with him separating Jessica and the puppy leaving her absolutely heartbroken just before Christmas.

Me and my partner have been looking everywhere for a dog for Jessica, a new companion. We thought it would be best to find a rescue dog. As well as helping Jessica find a new companion, we could also help a dog find a home. It just so happened that a friend of mine was fostering a dog called Oscar who has been rescued from Romania. As Oscar hadn’t been in the country long he wasn’t on the rescue website. We took Jessica to meet Oscar and she instantly fell in love with him and his eyebrows haha.

As we went through my friend and not the website we didn’t know all the terms and conditions plus I have never dealt with a pet rescue centre before. So, after Emma passed all the home checks it was explained to us that we just needed to cover the minimum adoption donation of £495 this covers the transportation of Oscar from Romania to the UK, microchip registration transfer, full vetinary health check, blood testing for all tick-borne diseases native in Romania, Brucellosis testing, medical treatment if required, vaccinations (mandatory to travel) – parvovirus, leptospirosis, distemper, hepatitis, distemper & rabies, kennel cough, worming treatments and flea treatments.

Obviously this is a lot of money for anyone right after Christmas, but there’s no way we can tell Jessica that actually Oscar cannot come home with you and have another dog taken away from her.

I am going to start off the donations and donate £50, my good friend Rob Brooks who’s idea this was said he will donate, I just hope others will follow to help Jessica and Oscar. Thank you in advance.

Any extra money donated will be donated to the pet rescue centre to help rehome other dogs just like Oscar

The work that Freedom Angels Romania do is amazing. Freedom Angels Romania was born out of a desperate need to support lone animal rescuers in Romania. Working with their rescuers over the last six years has made them acutely aware of the horrific abuse and cruelty these dogs and cats suffer on a daily basis.

Their aim is simple; to provide support ‘from Shelter to Sofa’. Their work begins by removing the animals from immediate danger, then, through their network of volunteers, work to find them a loving home within the UK, taking care to ensure that not only is the home permanent, but that each and every animal is carefully matched depending on their individual needs.
