“Starting Over for My Child and Our Future”
Hi, my name is Jessica May, and this isn’t easy for me to write. I am a single mother. I’ve always been the type of person to work hard and handle things on my own. But right now, life has brought me to a place where I can’t do it alone.
A few months ago, I lost my job unexpectedly. I’ve been applying everywhere, doing whatever I can to keep things afloat — but it’s been hard. I’m a single parent, and my number one goal is to make sure my son has what he needs — a roof over our heads, food on the table, and stability. I have Type 1 diabetes and my son struggles with elliptical concerns. Soon I will have to move. We are losing our home.
Right now, I’m facing a reality where every dollar matters. I’ve used up my savings just trying to stay current on bills and keep my child safe and cared for. I have completely exhausted all of my funds. Some days I stay up late wondering how I’ll make it through the next week — but I can’t give up. My child is my reason to keep going.
I’m asking for help to cover the basics — rent, groceries, transportation, and school essentials, our medical expenses such as medications — while I search for new employment and rebuild our life. I’m not looking for a handout, just a hand up while I get back on my feet.
If you’ve ever been through a tough time or known what it feels like to start over, please know your support — even sharing this — makes a world of difference. Every little bit helps us take one step closer to stability, security, and peace of mind.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read our story.
