On May 1st of this year, she and 10% of the company she worked for was laid off, completely unexpectedly. She's been actively trying to find work since, and has been struggling just to make ends meet. Unemployment doesn't cover all of her bills, and she receives too much in unemployment to qualify for food stamps or any other assistance. Any savings she had, had been depleted last summer when she was healing up from donating one of her kidneys. Just as she was finally getting ahead of things financially, this all happened.
While she may not agree with me, she's truly one of the most selfless people I know. She's helped many, including my family, in times of need however she could - including fostering cats in need. I hate to think of this woman and her family losing the place they've called home for so long, due to crap circumstances completely out of their control. They don't deserve this, however they do deserve some good karma.
