Help Jerry Fight FIP

Hi everyone,

My name is Saanya, and my beloved cat Jerry urgently needs your help. Jerry, our sweet rescue cat, joined our family during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. She has brought endless joy and comfort to our lives during those difficult years, moving happily with us across cities and even countries.

Today, Jerry faces her own battle against a similar coronavirus disease—Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). FIP is a deadly mutation of feline coronavirus, historically considered untreatable. Thankfully, recent groundbreaking research by Dr. Niels Pedersen at UC Davis has discovered a life-saving antiviral medication, GS-441524, which is now officially approved in Canada and other countries.

However, due to high demand and limited supply, veterinarians in Vancouver are currently unable to procure this crucial drug. Desperate to save Jerry, we've connected with the FIP Warriors 5.0 Facebook group, an incredible community that's successfully helping cats like Jerry receive treatment by sourcing GS-441524 from reputable suppliers abroad.

Jerry’s treatment is extensive, costly, and difficult. The protocol demands at least 84–98 consecutive days of painful subcutaneous injections, with regular blood tests, x-rays, and intensive care throughout. Each vial of medication costs $56 USD and lasts only about 2 days. We need at least 15 vials (total $840 USD) to get through the first 5 weeks of injections. After this initial phase, we hope to transition Jerry to oral pills to spare her the immense pain of injections. Pills cost $8 USD each, and Jerry will require around 201 pills ($1,608 USD) to complete the remainder of her treatment.

We’ve already invested over $3,000 USD in emergency care, tests, and medication. Despite this financial strain, we refuse to give up on Jerry. She’s fighting hard and responding positively to early treatments—she wants to survive. Jerry’s resilience and fighting spirit inspire us every single day.
