My husbands name is Jerome. He is 31 years old, a Ugandan citizen, a great husband and father of four beautiful kids. In 2013 he was diagnosed with hypertension. Little did he know that it was kidney failure causing the high blood pressure. January 2016 he was admitted to OhioHealth Doctors West Hospital in Columbus, Ohio and a series of tests were done. After performing a Kidney Biopsy it was discovered that he had FSGS (Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis) and it was too late for the doctors to contain the disease or save either kidney. We are currently in the United States where he has started dialysis (basically using a machine to help perform the kidney functions like separating unwanted toxic substances from your blood) treatments until we figure out the Kidney donor issue. However progress has been halted due to not having and health coverage. He currently is not eligible for Medicaid and does not feel well enough to get benefits through an employer. He uses dialysis treatments 3 times a week which costs us about $380 per treatment. This is a big challenge for me and my family and that’s why I am seeking help from you my Friends and Family. I call upon everyone willing to help in anyway possible be it donating a Kidney or contribute to the medical bills as we try to get coverage. We have made some consultations about getting a kidney transplant and the total cost, given we get a donor, is about $35,000 USD which includes accommodations for a month stay while on treatment and $5000 for dialysis treatments if needed. He is now treading on a thin thread while on this quest for the kidney transplant and I kindly need your help to fight this battle as time is of the essence.
