Help Jeremiah Bring Hope to Hurricane Victims

Hi! My name is Jeremiah! I’m heading to Asheville, North Carolina, with Fuel Church for a missions trip because Hurricane Helene left a trail of destruction that’s hard to fathom—homes reduced to rubble, families displaced, and entire communities upended. The storm hit Western North Carolina hard, flooding rivers, wiping out infrastructure, and leaving people in desperate need of help. I feel a pull to be there, to roll up my sleeves and do something tangible for those who’ve lost so much. Rebuilding homes, passing out food, and sharing the gospel isn’t just about fixing what’s broken; it’s about showing up for people when they’re at their lowest, offering hope through practical help and the love of Christ alongside hammers and hot meals.

This trip is perfect for me because I’m a builder by trade—working with my hands, constructing things from the ground up, is what I know and love. In Asheville, I’ll get to use those skills to help piece lives back together, whether it’s framing a wall, repairing a roof, or clearing debris so someone can start over. There’s something deeply satisfying about turning chaos into order, and I can’t think of a better way to use what I’m good at than to help families reclaim their homes while also sharing the good news of Jesus. It’s a chance to make a real difference, one nail and one conversation at a time, pointing people toward the ultimate source of strength and peace.

More than that, I really want to help—there’s a fire in me to support people who’ve been knocked down by something as uncontrollable as a hurricane, and to share the hope of the gospel with them. I’ve seen pictures of the flooding, heard stories of folks losing everything, and it hits me hard imagining what they’re going through. Being part of this mission means I can be there for them, not just with tools and supplies, but with a message of God’s love and redemption, ready to listen, to care, and to stand with them as they rebuild. It’s not just about the physical work; it’s about connecting with a community that needs all the strength it can get right now, and I’m honored to play a small part in that, bringing both practical aid and spiritual encouragement.

The funds that are provided by all you beautiful people will go towards the initial cost of going which is $1000, and the remainder will cover my personal expenses for taking off work allowing me to provide for my family even in my absence.
