In August 2021, it started very simply when Jenny developed a minor lump on the right side of her neck. Over a few weeks, the mass grew from a lump into something alarmingly large (like the size of your fist). She tried to get an appointment with her doctor, but the doctor wasn't available for a month. After much persistence and coaxing, she was finally able to see her doctor within a few weeks. The doctor ordered a biopsy and the result came back showing that it was only necrotic tissue. Although the mass was large at times, she only had minor headaches.

Because the symptoms were tame, the doctor prescribed antibiotics and steroids. But the mass did not go away and continued to vary in size - sometimes small, but then at times significant swelling occurred. Since the mass did not reduce in size after the antibiotics, the doctor then ordered a CAT scan which revealed she had swelling of the lymph node, and also had a smaller growth on the other side of her neck as well. But even at this time, there were no other major symptoms other than the headaches.

Over the past few weeks, the severity of her condition went from headaches to something significant. On Sunday, September 5, Jenny had a very hard time breathing and had severe pain & swelling in her abdomen. Because of this, she was rushed to St. Joseph’s hospital and was immediately admitted. After running a number of tests, including a full body scan, she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Lymphoma (type to be determined) which also caused significant swelling inside her abdomen area also.

Jenny is still at St Joseph’s and is experiencing a lot of pain, nausea, swelling, elevated heart rate and shortness of breath. She is currently awaiting results of more tests before beginning the appropriate treatment for Lymphoma, which is likely going to consist of chemotherapy.

Jenny's trust and faith in God is unwavering. She is the world's best wife to Octaviano and world's best mother to her three children - Priscilla, Isaiah and Ana. They all desperately want her to be home quickly. And it's even Ana's birthday this weekend.

Octaviano continues to do his best by working extremely hard everyday to support his family and care for his children. But he is only one person and can only do so much.
