Jenny’s Multiple Sclerosis Battle
Donation protected
Hi Everyone,
Most of you know Jenny Blomquist and a few of you know that she has been battling multiple sclerosis for the past 9 years. Recently in the last 2 months, the disease has decided to take a major toll on Jenny's body causing her severe complications. She has had to endure two week-long stays at the hospital in Ketchum over the past 8 weeks, and a recent MRI shows a large increase of lesions on the right side of her brain which are causing severe weakness and major loss of dexterity in her right hand and arm, she's having trouble walking without assistance. Due to these recent changes in her disease, her neurologist is working feverishly to try to find a medication that safe for her while she's pregnant. Currently, she's on infusions of daily steroids at the hospital in Ketchum and we're hoping they come up with a medication that she can take that is safe for her and the baby for the duration of her pregnancy. Due to the severe complications of the disease happening so quickly, her neurologist is extremely concerned that if something is not very done soon, Jenny will end up completely disabled.
As you know, Jenny and Anthony are expecting their second baby at the beginning of March, which is bringing up its own set of complications. That coupled with trying to take care of their five-year-old son Gavin, you can imagine that things are quite difficult for them right now. Jenny is mostly unable to work due to the severe loss in the right side of her body, leaving Anthony trying to work 3 jobs to cover for their family. Medical bills are piling up quickly and have already reached an astronomical $50,000 for the last 2 months. This cost is prior to any treatment that Jenny will be able to get. Any donations would be extremely, greatly appreciated to help this wonderful local family get through this extremely difficult time.
Jenny has been a local resident of the Wood River Valley since 2000. She worked as a firefighter with Sun Valley for several years as well as a wildland firefighter with the BLM. Over the years she has dedicated time and money in helping those around our valley when they need it most and now sadly, the time has come for her to ask for help in return. Please know that every dollar donated will be used to help cover bills and basic living expenses during this extremely difficult time.
