Hello, my name is Jennifer, and my family has been profoundly impacted by the tragic gas leak and explosion that occurred in Malaysia on April 1st, 2025.

The incident began with a gas pipeline leak in Puchong, just outside Kuala Lumpur, which ignited a massive blaze that spread rapidly to surrounding villages during the public holiday (Eid) celebrations. The fire wreaked havoc, damaging at least 49 homes and leaving 112 people injured. Tragically, many victims suffered severe burns, with 63 individuals requiring immediate hospitalization due to burns, breathing difficulties, and other serious injuries.

My own family has been hit especially hard. My sister, Winnie, and her daughter, SueAnne, are both in the hospital with devastating third-degree burns. They face a long and painful recovery. Their family home was completely destroyed by the fire, leaving them with nothing. The damage is beyond words, and as I’ve lived in the UK for nearly 30 years, I’m doing everything I can to support them in rebuilding their lives.

This fundraiser is aimed at helping my family recover. The funds raised will go toward:

Rebuilding their home, which was entirely destroyed by the fire.

Replacing all lost personal possessions.

Covering medical bills and expenses for the extensive treatments required for my sister and niece's recovery.

I’ve included pictures of the damage to their home, and it’s truly heartbreaking to witness the scale of destruction. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference and be deeply appreciated by my family as they work to rebuild their lives.
