Help Jen Survive Cancer Craziness
March 27, 2017, at the age of 33, Jen was diagnosed with stage 3 Rectal Cancer – it’s bad – it’s aggressive – it’s nasty. Jen is the mother of two children; Brooklyn, a beautiful smart 12 year old young lady who happens to have autism and Mason, a busy, sensitive smart 7 year old boy. These two beautiful children lost their dad one year ago to rare form of lung cancer. Their lives have forever changed. Nothing will ever be the same. And, now this diagnosis!
Jen is a strong proud young woman. For those that know her know that she would be the first to offer her help to those in need. She started a new job a little while before the diagnosis, so not long enough beforehand for health coverage to kick in. When you have a mortgage and bills to pay, anything additional puts a strain on you – financially and emotionally. Not only was she given this new burden of medical expenses, she and her children are now no longer qualified through the children's fathers benefits since his passing. She’s trying to stay strong for her children. She has suffered working through six out of the six weeks of vigorous radiation and chemo treatments and now is too sick to work. And when it comes time for surgery which is scheduled the first week of August she will indefinitely be off work. Recovery from this major surgery will be 8-12 months! Jen will begin intense port chemo August 21st for the durations of 4 months and granted the cancer has been successfully removed and has not spread we are hoping that she will be on her way to recovery by Christmas time.
She needs our help. She needs our prayers. She needs our encouragement.
