Help Jeff Schwartz Cancer Care Costs

Jeff's Journey,


For anyone who knows Jeff, you’ll know his witty humor and his enjoyment of getting folks going with a good debate.  He is kind and would do anything to help anyone in need.  He has been a hard worker all of this life and enjoys life and the people he has in it. 

2020 has not been kind to many of us.  Jeff and his family have had an especially rough year with illness and unexpected events no family should have to endure.  

Jeff has been unwell for a lot of months, to now have a diagnosis of high grade muscle invasive bladder cancer.  Although cancer causes are often unknown, Jeff had a battle with cancer as a child, and the treatments he had to endure at that time are a known contributor to the bladder cancer he is now facing.   Along with so many people, Jeff’s health care throughout this has been pushed and over looked because of recent healthcare limitations we all are facing .  However, he will persevere through this and will be receiving Bladder removal surgery in Thunder Bay.  

Jeff has been fortunate to have so many people help him through this ordeal.  Lots of family and friend support, which he is so thankful for.  Renee and his brother Berk have worked together to make sure Jeff had a voice and helped Jeff advocate for help and proper care.

Berk has taken the time to bring Jeff on the long journey to Thunder Bay and will stay there until Jeff is well enough to be released from hospital.  Right now we know Jeff will be in hospital approx. 10 days after surgery without complications.

At this point there is no certain treatment plan going forward until after Jeff’s surgery.  But what we do know is Jeff will have a long road of recovery, with that comes a lot of expenses for equipment, health supplies, medications and travel expenses.

This will mean the world to Jeff.  To see the love and concern that people have for him will give Jeff the strength to carry on and keep fighting.  Even in these uncertain times, the only thing certain is that there are good people in the world.  He is one of them.  And so are you.  We deeply appreciate any amount that is donated to help Jeff, but if you are unable to do so, well wishes and positive thoughts mean just as much.
