Help Jeff Help You

On New Year's Eve, Jeff's truck was stolen, along with things from pretty much every aspect of his day-to-day life:  all the tools he uses as the friendly neighborhood handyman, a trauma kit he spent months building, his gym gear, his work boots, the only pair of gloves he owns, and much more.

All of these things, and the truck itself, enabled him to help other people.  Over the years, he has moved pianos and safes; installed security systems and hot water heaters; replaced brake pads and changed oil; built backyard livestock domeciles; fixed leaky toilets, faulty electrical, HVAC . . . you name it.  Anytime someone in need has called on him, he rushes to help.  His ability to help has been impaired, and I'd like to help restore it as much as we can.

The thieves made off with over $5,000 of his personal property, not to mention the value of the truck.  So while they may make a few hundred dollars pawning his possessions, Jeff is now beginning the year $15,000 in the hole, because he has to buy a new truck and replace all his stolen belongings.  He only had liability on his old rusty truck, since he never thought anyone would want to steal it, so his car insurance company can't help him.  Homeowners insurance will pay for some of the personal property, after deductible and depreciation, and in return for that help, they will increase his yearly payment.  He has doubles of some of the tools, so thankfully he won't have to rebuy all of them.

Since Jeff is used to helping others, and not used to being the one to ask for help, I am asking for him.  If he's ever helped you move a table or build a shelf or put antifreeze in your car, please consider this a way to compensate him for his services, and ensure he's able to continue doing things like that for you and others.  He works so hard for other people; he didn't deserve to have things that he worked for and earned taken away from him.  He said he'd be happy with $100, but I thought maybe we could try for a little more.  Anything you give will go towards replacing necessities, or a downpayment on a used truck.  We both really appreciate any help you can give.  Let's help Jeff help you!
