Help Jeff and Callie Adopt!

Jeff and Callie Hsiang are some of our favorite people in the world. We (the Batemans and the Williamsons) are excited to introduce you to them and their story through this page.
In December of 2014, Jeff and Callie found out that Callie has a genetic disorder. In the process of decorating their Christmas tree, they got a phone call from their genetic counselor that this disorder could be passed on to future children. The Batemans got to go over that night and grieve and pray with them, processing together that their plans for starting their family would look different than they had originally thought. Over the past few years, we've seen the two of them grieve, process, cling to the Lord, wait, pray, and then grow in excitement over the possibility of adoption.
Jeff and Callie are passionate about adoption because it depicts the gospel. Through the cross, God adopts us as his children. Through lots of prayer and conversations with family and community, they've decided that this is how they want to pursue the growth of their family.
Since then, the two of them have uprooted their lives in Columbia, moved to Knoxville, gotten new jobs, lived a few too many places, and have started City Church with us. Because of the weight of planting a church, they’ve felt called to put their plans for adoption on hold. It hasn't been an easy wait, but within the past few months they've been able to take more tangible steps towards becoming what is called a "waiting family".
We’re hoping to help them raise the full $35,700 to help bring their baby home. The initial fee to become a waiting family is $9,500. The rest of the money will be due when Baby Hsiang is home!
We’re really excited to walk alongside Jeff and Callie as they start their family. Would you consider praying and giving generously to bring Baby Hsiang home?
“I will be a Father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty.” (2 Corinthians 6:18)
