Help Jean-Grey Out of Financial Hardship

Donation protected
First and foremost, thank you for clicking on my GoFundMe page.

My name is Jean-Grey Gillespie and I am 25 years old living in Portland, OR.
This year has been very hard on me as it has for many others. In May of 2020, I started to experience unusual symptoms like sever chest pains, abdominal pain, large amounts of acid reflux, regurgitation of food, asthma, swallowing hardships, nausea, excessive amounts of hiccups, and frequent sore throats. I started to experience constant anxiety which ultimately led to depression because I didn't know what was going on with me. After spending over $1750 going back and forth to the doctors office I was recommend to a gastrointestinal specialist at The Portland Clinic in Beaverton, OR who would perform an EGD. I made an appointment to receive an EGD on August 20th, 2020.

About a week before my scheduled procedure (August 12th, 2020) I ate food that I had no idea I was allergic to and suffered hives all over my body which I immediately rushed myself to the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) ER to get help in fear of experiencing anaphylaxis shock. I was treated at the ER and had to stay at the hospital for about 8 hours until I was released.

When August 20th, 2020 came around I received an EGD and was diagnosed with a bulging hiatal hernia.

A hiatal hernia is when the stomach bulges through the diaphragm and into the esophagus causing symptoms like acid reflux, chest pain, abdominal pain, heartburn, regurgitation of food, hard of swallowing, nausea, belching, hiccups, vomiting, dry cough, and sore throats. Common in those over the age of 50 and obesity. I am 25 and I weigh 131 lbs.

After being diagnosed, I was told that there is nothing I could've done to prevent or cause this but now I needed to make a ton of lifestyle changes before things got worse.

With the loss of my job in March and two unexpected and terrible events occurring in my life I have been left with two large bills I fear I am unable to pay for after spending all that I had on the all the doctor appointments that led up to these events. I lost my job during the pandemic and have had a hard time finding a new job and now I am left with being behind rent and medical bills that are demanding of me after multiple notices and I fear I am left with no option but to ask help from others like you.  On my rent bill I only ask aid for rent and amenities that are late (05/2020-09/2020) and not current as I am only asking for the minimum aid.

Please if you can find the kindness in your heart to help any amount would be appreciated. I don't want to lose my home and I don't want to be faced with financial hardships due to a series of unfortunate events and timing that was out of my control. This is my one last shot in asking for help.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story.

The statements for my asking amount is as followed:

OHSU Remaining Amount of $450.76 (out of $549.70)

The Portland Clinic Remaining Amount of $693.88 (out of $693.88)

Fountain Village Development Amount of $616.00 (out of $1551.00)

Total: $1760.64
