Hello and thank you for visiting my GoFundMe! My name is JD Allison. I am 18 years and live in Atlanta, Georgia. I am currently raising money for my member tuition to march in the world class independent percussion group known as Equinox Percussion. Equinox is a competitive ensemble that competes in the indoor winter marching arts organization: Winter Guard International (WGI). We spend the months of November to April in an intense rehearsal and show schedule preparing for the World Championship in Dayton Ohio. This activity pushes a musician to his/her physical and mental limits as it calls for the most demanding type of musical performance involving many theatrical elements. I have been lucky enough to have been selected and contracted last year to play with this incredible group and it forever changed my life and my outlook of music, as well as formed friendships I treasure dearly just from the power of music. Now we are at the beginning of the 2018 indoor competitive season and by the hard work preparing during the off season, I have earned a spot on the ensemble for the renewed season.
About Me: I've been a percussionist for nearly 9 years now and I have loved every moment of it learning the complex subtleties of music, creating music, and performing. This has pushed me to pursue many outlets for my drumming. From drumming at churches, in my basement, in my high school drumline, and now at the pro-level with Equinox! What your donation does: If you decide to give to my cause, your proceeds will go to pay for my membership dues. These dues are what pays for the groups musical equipment, show props and costumes, transport, and the instruction from our immensely gifted staff. How do you donate?
