<div>Let me tell you about my beautiful wife! Jay has been a dedicated member of the Vancouver music scene since the 90’s. She has always valued providing her fellow musicians with affordable access to recording, mixing, and mastering. She started transitioning a year ago, and although it has been incredibly affirming it has also been utterly financially draining. We have never had much money but have always managed to scrape by freelancing in the arts. Sadly this has become less and less sustainable over the last few years.

</div>
<div>Jay has spent more than $8K of her own limited resources so far and will need to pay about $90k more for gender affirming care before the end of this year. Everything we raise here will fund Jay’s FFS (Facial Feminization Surgery: $83K), our travel and accommodation costs for the trip to Toronto in November (Did you know: only 2 surgeons officially perform FFS in Canada! One in Montreal and one in Toronto), laser hair removal, voice training, and medication. Unfortunately, none of this is covered by MSP.

</div>
<div>We are inexperienced at asking for money from our friends and community, but our usual scrappy DIY spirit cannot fund the cost of transitioning. Any amount you can donate means a lot to Jay and I - even $10! We appreciate your help more than we can express. We know most of our creative friends are also struggling so if you can’t donate please consider sharing this page with your social circle. Do you have rich relatives who want to fight the rise of fascism? Support a trans woman! We know this is a lot to ask for. Community care is magical and essential. Thank you for your support.
