A couple years ago, my life changed dramatically. I went through a painful divorce, lost my job at the University of Michigan when my department was shut down, and eventually had to file for bankruptcy. To survive, I started Door Dashing over 60 hours a week while searching for a new job. Despite my efforts, I haven’t been able to land a new position and have continued delivering to make ends meet.

 Recently, on September 4th, my car died and needed a new engine—an expense I simply couldn’t afford. I was out of work for months, and my savings were completely drained. Just when I thought all hope was lost, I was blessed with a used vehicle a couple weeks ago. I got back to work as soon as I could, but now my new vehicle is having issues and needs repairs. I am completely penniless, with a bankruptcy payment due December 12th, and another payment coming up close behind it on December 26th. If I can get right back to work, I am hoping I can make enough to pay the December 26th payment. I’m a single dad caring for my two wonderful daughters. I have no way to provide a Christmas for them this year, and I’m struggling to buy food. To make matters worse, our washing machine just broke down.

 I am desperate for help, especially to make the bankruptcy payment on Friday, or I risk losing our home. Your support would help me cover this urgent payment, fix my car so I can keep working, put food on the table, and give my daughters a little hope this holiday season. Any help you can give would mean the world to us.
