Help Jason & His Family Through This Long Recovery

Wednesday July 10th, the lives of three families were changed forever after a head on collision critically injured Jason and his friend Cameron and took the life of the other driver. Jason and Cameron were towing Jason’s car to the shop to be fixed the next day when a Subaru driving the opposite direction started driving into their lane straight for them. As Cameron tried to avoid the oncoming vehicle, it changed direction again and collided head-on with the front passenger part of Cameron’s truck. Cameron was able to call 9-1-1 and then his father who contacted Jason’s family. Everyone rushed to the scene where they learned that the driver of the Subaru had suffered from a medical condition prior to the crash which caused him to lose control of his car. The driver of the Subaru was pronounced deceased at the scene, Cameron and Jason were critically injured and transported to Desert Regional in Palm Springs.

Jason has a fractured foot and scapula, a broken tibia that now has been stabilized with a rod, a torn pectoral muscle (he almost lost his arm), numerous staples in that arm, abrasions on his face and body, broken ribs and a collapsed lung. He is resting and currently in a medically induced coma so that his body can take the time that it needs to heal. We are asking for donations for Jason, and his family as he recovers from his injuries. The immediate need is for Jason’s mother, fiancé and their 7-week-old son to be able to afford to stay in Palm Springs with him while he is in the hospital. They will also need long term help because Jason was the sole provider for his fiancé and son and will be out of work for the foreseeable future as he works on getting through this long road to recovery.
