Help Jasmin & ZZ In Their Battle With Cancer
Donation protected
Hello, we are co-workers and friends of ZZ here at NDDOT. Her husband Jasmin is receiving treatment for Multiple Myeloma at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. This is a rare form of blood cancer that affects the bone marrow and spreads quickly. Jasmin was originally diagnosed with Plasmacytoma in July of 2021 and immediately began Pencil-Beam Radiation Therapy for a period of 5 weeks. ZZ and Jasmin stayed in Rochester for those five weeks. During the period between October 2021 to May 2023 they traveled to Rochester for tests and follow up appointments. During this period the treatments appeared to be working. At the May 2023 appointment tests revealed that the cancer had spread, and Jasmin began a 2-week period of radiation therapy. They returned to Mayo Friday, November 9th and were given the devastating news that cancer had progressed to his bones and organs. It was then he was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma.
Jasmin began chemotherapy treatment in combination with immunotherapy on Monday, November 13th which will continue until December 13th. Following this treatment, he transitions to additional lifesaving treatments that will require them to stay in Rochester for 6 months and probably longer.
Which brings us to our request for your help. This treatment comes with a significant medical cost that will not be completely covered by insurance. In addition to those costs that we all would take on to save someone we love they are staying away from their home in Bismarck for at least 6 months. Our hope is to raise funds to help with the costs of living in Rochester. They have spent considerable resources prior to this stay but this time it will be much longer. They have been staying in a hotel close to the clinic and are moving to an apartment soon. Your financial contribution and support will hopefully help with their living and medical expenses.
Thank You for your consideration, Darcy Karel, Julie Small, Pam Wenger & Gerald Kautzman
