Help Jarid with Medical $ and Bills

Donation protected
On June 10, Jarid suffered a spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage. As he was preparing to head to work that afternoon, the worst headache of his life set in suddenly. He described it as unbearable pain beginning on his right side between his temple and the middle of his forehead, traveling to the center of his forehead, and then traveling over his head and down to the base of his spine. After attempting to work, he went to Urgent Care and they quickly sent him to the Emergency Room at CMC-Huntersville. Upon completion of a CAT scan, they determined that he had blood between his brain and skull and initially thought it to be caused by a brain aneurysm. They stabilized him and moved him to the Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit at Carolina's Medical Center - Main. He underwent a barrage of tests and procedures over the next several days, where they determined that they believe it was a vessel or several vessels that burst, causing the damage. He developed a dangerous complication called vasospasm, where the vessels surrounding the brain are agitated by the blood and begin to clamp down and close. This put him at a greatly increased risk of stroke or hydrocephalus. We were surrounded by the prayers of many family, friends, and even strangers and by a miracle, the vasospasm eased. After spending seven days in the Neuro ICU, he was moved to a regular room and was sent home three days after that!

His recovery has been difficult, where he faces many of the same obstacles that other SAH survivors endure. Jarid is an active man, so his inability to work, help at home, and even pick up his own daughter has been a daunting reality for him. He gets better each and every day and gets out to take walks to regain his strength and ease the pain in his back and head.

This fund will help ease the financial burden caused by this unexpected medical emergency. Becky is back to working full time, but had to miss many days, where she received no pay. Jarid will have short-term-disability in the near future, but those payments will not come close to his normal income. These funds will help keep the household running until Jarid is able to return to work.

Even if you're unable to donate money, your prayers are appreciated! With doctors unable to determine the exact cause of the initial bleed, there will always (in their minds) be a concern of it occurring again.
