Hello, my name is Liza, and many of you may know my beloved cat, Jared.

Jared has become somewhat of a local favorite—everyone who meets him falls in love with his affectionate, playful personality.

On March 27th, Jared's 2nd birthday, I noticed he wasn’t acting like himself. He had stopped eating, was extremely lethargic, and began hiding—something very unlike him. A few days later, he started limping and avoided putting any weight on his back left leg.

Concerned, I took him to the vet immediately. X-rays of his foot were taken, as that appeared to be the main source of his pain. However, the results showed no clear issue, and he was sent home with anti-inflammatory medication.

Unfortunately, a month later, there has been no improvement. We returned to the vet today for further evaluation, including additional X-rays of his knee and hip. Turns out Jared has a genetic condition that causes degeneration of his hip joints and surrounding muscles.

The recommended treatment is a full hip replacement surgery. The estimated cost is $6,000.

As a financially independent college student supporting two dependents, I’m facing an overwhelming financial challenge. Jared means the world to me and It breaks my heart to see him in pain every day. I’m determined to get him the care he needs.
