Help Janice cover Bruce's ER & nursing home fees

After 56 years of marriage, my neighbors Bruce and Janice Ogilvie are facing the hardest thing they've ever experienced. Bruce has been battling Alzheimer's for awhile now, and Janice has been caring for him diligently at home like any loving wife would. Janice came over to see us last night to ask if our boys would willing to mow her lawn this summer, and the reason why she needs them absolutely broke my heart... She said Bruce's decline has been rapid, and over the weekend everything came to a head. Bruce was trying to leave their home at 2 am and became combative toward her as she attempted to redirect him. Janice was alone and just couldn't calm him down no matter what she tried, so she ultimately made the heartwrenching decision to call 911 and get reinforcements. He has been at the hospital since then, pending placement in a dementia unit because Janice knows she just can't keep him safe at home on her own anymore. HOPEFULLY Bruce will get in at Woodlands in Farmington and then be able to transfer to the new facility over by the new jail once it's complete, but the reality is that he could end up anywhere in the state. The worst part is, because of how our wonderful healthcare system works, in order to place him, Janice will eventually lose everything, all of their savings and even their home...I had all I could do to keep it together when she said to me, "I have to private pay for his placement, of course...I'll pay until my money runs out. Hopefully we can get him where we want him before that...I don't know what will happen then..." PLEASE, anything you can donate to help them will help to keep him safe in a facility that can meet his needs, and keep her in their home for as long as possible before the nursing home eventually takes it...
