Help Janet recover from severe illness

Being human can means life gets really rough. This year has gotten off to a rough start for our friend Janet and she needs our help right now.

To explain a bit of the facts:

Janet is a lively community focused entrepreneur whose passion is to help people navigate day to day and life transitions with more ease, joy, grace and personal power. Janet has been vibrantly healthy for many years, Janet's Sole Prop Business is called Visible Transitions.

Mid November 2019, Janet broke out into body hives, which did not go away. Throughout the festive Holiday season she sought on-going medical treatment and the cause for this mysterious condition, which is very uncomfortable and began to interfere with her capacity to work.

On January 14, the hives worsened significantly and her throat began to swell closed, so she rushed to the ER and was treated with high dose steroids and given epipens to carry, still without illumination as the cause.

The morning of January 16th the swelling came back and she went unconscious, falling to the floor hitting her head and nose on the tub causing a concussion, bruising and swelling of her face :( When she came to, she began to walk down the hall to her bedroom rushing towards the phone to call 911 when she fainted again, bruising her coccyx and lower back.

She eventually crawled to get to her phone and call for an ambulance. On the ambulance ride, in anaphylactic shock and with a fresh concussion, Janet began to do her trademark 'Neutrality Practice,' and within 2 minutes her vitals returned to normal, to the surprise of the attending EMT.

Calm and collected, but still in shock, Janet was admitted and treated for this still mysterious allergy, and later diagnosed with the concussion. And then this past Thursday she was driven to the ER once again for fear of anaphylactic shock and sent home with more steroids.

{UPDATE: After 2 rounds of steroidal treatment and a strict carnivore diet, 20 lbs of weight loss, the hives have largely subsided. The Traumatic Brain Injury symptoms have not improved and continue to be a significant handicap, including extreme light sensitivity, cognitive challenges, and sleep disturbance}.

Now with COVID19, Janet is extremely high risk, and all of her at home support needs to stay away while she is vulnerable. At this point Janet is completely out of commission: with no capacity to work, drive herself or use screens, and is largely incapacitated until further notice. She is medicated and needing lots of rest. It’s a pretty intense experience in her body most days, she is actively seeking to mediate the ongoing symptoms and find their cause.

However, at this point, she is needing some additional assistance and asking for help from all of you to support this financial toll and focus all her energy on healing. Janet has gone through her savings, and is unsure when she will be capable to return to work. This fund is necessary at this time.

Stress makes both of her hive and concussion conditions worse. And Janet is a pro with neutrality, but life is crazy sometimes and tests even the most equanimous.

ON TOP OF THIS, she was unexpectedly given notice January 5th and now has 5 weeks to find a new home, moving out of one her favorite home experiences. This is particularly challenging given her state, especially since she cannot use screens to look for homes, or drive herself to view them (and she is really in no shape to be interviewing).  {UPDATE: with the help of an advocate, the Landlord has given her an extension until May 31- she still needs help finding a new home and moving}

The ideal outcome here involves this Campaign raising awareness and funds in the community so that friends can offer support to facilitate healing and a smooth transition into a wonderful new home.

To explain the costs associated that define the $25k goal, we are asking for a 3 month cushion to cover (California) expenses, medical copays, and treatments.

-Monthly adult living expenses: $4000
-Medical expenses thus far (ER and ambulance): $2000
-Supplements and medication copays thus far: $500
-Ongoing medical care copays: $500 (hoping for no more ER visits)
-Treatment Sessions such as: cranial sacral, feldenkrais, network chiropractic, bodywork, energy healing, spiritual counsel, acupuncture (donated!), ($50-$150 per session depending on the work)
