Please help Jan and the kids recover from an apartment fire!!!
This is my stepsister Janis.
She’s pretty much a badass. Jan is a single mom to these three weirdos (Quincy, Olivia, and Andre)
Despite being a young single mother, Jan worked her tail off to put herself through school to become a nurse. Jan now works as a nurse helping people with drug addictions get back on their feet. As a nurse and mother Janis gives all of herself to others at all times. This is our chance to give back to Jan.
Early this morning (4/18/18) a fire broke out in the apartment building that Jan and the three kids live in. From what I have heard it appears that they have lost everything.
As they work to bounce back from this tragedy they are going to need help from their family, friends, and community. And since Jan would never ask for help herself, I’m doing it for her. She might hurt me for setting this up for her but it’s a risk I’m willing to take! Jan is a rock, not just for her small brood but for our entire family and to all of her friends.
Let’s get Jan and the kids back on their feet!
Any donation will be greatly appreciated, whether it’s $1 or $100 it all adds up and it all helps!

UPDATE: happy to report that Jan, the three kids, both dogs, and both cats all made it out of the fire safe and sound. They did however lose just about everything. Jan has been searching for a new place to live pretty much non-stop. The strength of her and the kids is inspiring. They are seriously the toughest people I know. And we have been completely overwhelmed by people’s generosity! Family, friends, community and some very kind strangers have all chipped in to get us where we currently are and it is AMAZING!
