Help James Winn

James was hit by a car on his motorcycle Tuesday night on his way home from work. He was just trying to get home to his wife and 5 beautiful kids.

James was rushed to Hurley where they were able to make him stable. He was then transported to Detroit Medical Center due to the severity of damage to his pelvis. DMC did lots of test, which showed that he broke his pelvis in the front and back, fractured his right wrist, fractured S3 and S4 in his spine, and tore his urethra. James also had a bad laceration on his chin and neck caused from the helmets chin strap.

James had his first and second surgery's Wednesday afternoon. The first one was to stitch up his chin and chest which resulted in him getting 45 stitches. The second one was on his pelvis, where they had to put it back together and holding it together are plates and bolts.

Today James is having his third surgery to fix his wrist by putting in a plate and a couple screws. Monday he is scheduled to have his fourth surgery on his spine.

Once James is done with surgery, he will have a really long road to recovery. He will have to do 4 to 6 months of physical therapy. In therapy he will have to learn how to walk and use his right wrist again. This means James will not be able to work for at least 6 months.

I’m making this page to help my brother James and his family in this really difficult time. I’m hoping this helps them financially as they have 5 little ones to take care of. James is scared of losing everything. Even in this moment in James life, through pain and surgery he is thinking about how to take care of his family.

So please help me help James not worry about bills and feeding his family. So, he can rest and recover.
