Josie is also a well-known hairstylist, running her award-winning salon, Kut’n Up In Style Beauty Salon in Greenville, while James works in commercial flooring maintenance—but his true passion is cooking. They built a thriving food truck business, JC Cooks With Love, until a devastating fire took it off the road just five months ago. Determined to rebuild, they repaired the food truck and were hoping to be back in business when everything changed again. James went in for a routine thyroid surgery to remove a benign cyst—but what should have been a simple procedure turned into a six-hour emergency surgery. Doctors discovered the cyst was cancerous, requiring an emergency tracheostomy and a gastrostomy to place a feeding tube. He spent two weeks in the hospital, fighting through one of the toughest battles of his life. AND the battle isn't over, medically or financially!
