My name is Jairo, and my family and I run a small, family-operated trucking business. Last night, while I was out on the highway, a sudden blowout of my steer tire caused a terrible accident. In just moments, my truck and trailer—everything we’ve worked so hard to build—were engulfed in flames. Thankfully, I made it out safely, but our equipment was completely destroyed. This business is our only source of income, and we’ve poured our hearts into it for years.

 We’ve been building our home for about a year, and with a 9-month-old baby and my wife and two children depending on me, this loss is devastating. The funds raised here will help us replace the equipment we need to keep our business running and provide for our family. While we’re hoping our insurance claim will help, it may only be enough to buy a used truck—maybe—but not the trailer, and with the cost of everything rising, it’s not enough to get us back on our feet. We worked so hard to purchase our equipment, and losing it all in an instant has been heartbreaking.
