Help Jacquie Get Back On The Road

In January 2019 Jacquie got an aggressive cancer diagnosis

February 2019 she had surgery, this was then shortly followed by harsh chemotherapy that made her so so poorly. Then 25 rounds of radiotherapy

During all this Jacquie tried to keep working, because if she didn’t, the company she worked for wouldn’t pay her

 

Then as we all know, 2020 sent us Covid

By now Jacquie had left her job due to cancer leaving her so very poorly. The aftermath of chemotherapy is awful and leaves long term issues

 

All throughout 2020 as covid hit us all, Jacquie became an NHS volunteer responder and also a Macmillan Support Volunteer

Jacquie collected donations and delivered for local food banks

Gave telephone support to those affected by cancer

Did medication, shopping etc collection and deliveries for those who were shielding or isolating due to covid

Jacquie also fostered and did a lot of fundraising for rescued dogs

 

Through all this, Jacquie’s own health was still very poor and she still had the knowledge that more surgery was needed due to cancer

 

Jacquie has continued to volunteer for Macmillan over in Brighton 3 days a week and it’s become her passion

 

Sadly Jacquie’s car recently broke down and the repair costs are higher than the value of her car

 

Being an unpaid volunteer means Jacquie has a very limited income, so we have set up this fundraising page to try and help her get a cheap little run around so she can continue doing all the great things she does

 

She may be a total stranger to most of you, but to so many, she has been a much needed lifeline
