Hi, my name is Dawn, and I'm reaching out to help raise money for a wonderful woman named Jacq, or Jacquelyn, whom I had the honor of meeting and working with during an entrepreneurial business training. She is full of kindness, caring, and warmth and loves helping people.
Unfortunately, she had an accident/head injury recently. She is recovering with strict doctors orders to minimize stress, movement or screentime to allow the brain to fully recover from the impact.
I reached out to help her though we are on opposite sides of the globe so i offered to send food or money. Realizing Jacq may have other friends who also want to help - I suggested setting this up so we can actually help Jacq with monthly expenses - she is an entrepreneur which means she can't operate her business currently.
Any amount you can spare - tea money or a dinner amount or any amount you are comfortable sharing, is most welcome!!
Thank you from my heart to yours for finding kindness when someone needs help.
Wishing you best health and many blessings--
Dawn.
Jacq's jouney shared with community and learning to receive:
On 7th August, I had a 'big woopsy' - an accident at my favourite local sauna, unconscious 5-10seconds landing on the back of my head, in hospital, in ICU for 3 days, scans cleared my C-spine as OK, but stayed in another day to make sure the 2 small bleeds on the brain were going to be ok too. They were healing enough to get the OK to go home on the 9th Aug in the afternoon.
With strict order to cancel all work for at least 2 weeks, focus on sleep, bed rest and total screen ban for the first week, the trauma team said "if you are bored, you're doing it right".
Since then, I've had a gentle introduction to movement and external stimulation- managing day by day, a slow turbulent healing journey.
Specialists said healing time for this kind of brain injury is looking to be about 3-months to make almost / full recovery. I am deeply grateful to be self employed with incredible clients and community who are compassionate, understanding and want the best for me and a full recovery.
Going back to full time work is not an option during this time. While I will include some work where I can around my rehab over the coming months with high intentions to heal in less than 3 months, I'm juggling the ongoing costs of living and running my 3 businesses without being in full time service the way I normally am-
Dawn is a caring entrepreneurial friend on the other side of the world who heard about my traumatic brain injury and generously suggested to create this gofundme page as an opportunity for financial relief, giving me the space to fully recover without the added stress and urgency to return to work.
At first I was very resistant to 'receiving money without working for it!' -- 'there are people out there suffering and need it more than me'
I have been breathing into and releasing these limiting beliefs, processing heavy, negative emotions, guilt, shame, fear of judgement and all the layers that come with this new trauma experience
I am practicing leaning in, opening up, and surrendering to being supported in all ways possible so I can fully heal, come back better than before, and continue to support my local and online communities too!
If that means allowing myself to be open to receive financial donations that I am not 'working' to receive, then I am deeply grateful.
I also recognise, that there have been many people reaching out offering their help and wanting to give yet not sure how-- with this page, they now have this space to do so.
The gift of giving without any expectations of getting anything back-- that's the real flex, and I'm breathing into it--
I can't wait to pay it forward, with this kind of heart filled generosity to others in need in the future.
