Help Jackie Get Their Car Back

Hi friends,
My car was towed on Saturday, March 29th, during a special event near the Tower Theatre—even though it was legally parked. Since then, I’ve been stuck in a frustrating and expensive process trying to get it back.
The tow lot won’t release the car without current registration and proof of ownership. I made the final payment on the car on March 31st and immediately requested the title—but delays from the bank and UPS have added hundreds to the bill. Meanwhile, I’ve been working with the Oregon DMV to fix a bizarre issue that started 7 years ago when I bought the car: my license plate and VIN are mismatched in the system, making registration impossible until they sort it out.
Each day my car sits in the lot adds $77 to the bill. Right now, I’m looking at over $2,000 just to get it out, not counting the registration costs, which could easily add another $1,000 or more.
This car means a lot to me. It’s a 7-year investment I just finished paying off. It’s my only vehicle—how I transport music gear, get groceries, and stay active in the community.
I’m an audio engineer at the Tower Theatre, a barista at Alchemist Coffee Lab, and an active member of Fresno’s music scene. I’ve always worked hard and tried to contribute to the creative life of this city. I don’t like asking for help, but I’ve reached a point where I can’t do this on my own.
If I’m unable to recover the car, all funds will go toward purchasing a reliable used vehicle. Either way, your support means the world.
Thanks for reading—and thank you so much for helping, if you’re able.
