I'm excited to announce that I've been accepted into the Atlantic Music Festival's 2018 Student Division composition program! The month long program in Waterville, Maine includes tutorials with distinguished composers (Amy Beth Kirsten, Ken Ueno, and more!!), a chance to premier a new chamber work with professional musicians, orchestral reading sessions, and participation in seminars in collaboration with IRCAM.
This opportunity gives me a chance to work and learn from a diverse pool of professional composers. It's a great way to dive straight into the American classical music scene and continue to build on my career's foundation. The festival's mission "is to cultivate originality, independence, and innovation in the American musical performance arena." They bring together professional and emerging musicians and I hope to be a part of it this July!
I am seeking your support to make this edifying experience happen. The tuition cost is $4,450 and my travel cost from Sheffield, UK to Waterville, Maine, USA is about $1,000. I need your help to raise $5,450 by 15 of April.
For any donations $20 - 50, I will compose a personalized 1-minute electronic microcosm. $50 - 100 will receive a 2-minute microcosm. $100 - 500 will receive a handwritten letter from the UK and a 3-minute electronic piece. Contributions of $500 and up will receive a fully realized electronic composition, handwritten letter, and my secret salsa recipe.
Check out the microcosms I've already composed!!! https://diazsounds.bandcamp.com/
All microcosms and electronic pieces will be shared publicly on my social media platforms and may be anonymous. Your contributions, no matter the size, are greatly appreciated. I cannot express how excited I am to be selected for this opportunity and hope you can be a part of the next step in my career.
All the best,
