My name is Sarah and the beautiful girl in the photo and reason for this fundraising page is my dog Izzy. The first time I saw Izzy was through a facetime video where she looked dehydrated, run down, exhausted and barely moving/ hopping on three legs to get around.I knew this sweet girl needed someone who could care for her, the problem was she was in Georgia and I live in Pennsylvania. With help from my sister, Megan, after being turned away from a vet in Georgia; we were able to meet in Virginia to bring Izzy to Pennsylvania so that she could be examined and cared for.
X-rays showed a dislocated hip, in combination with abrasions on her leg leading the veterinarian to believe she had been hit by a car. The X-ray also showed buckshot scattered all over her body. Through everything she has already been through, it was diagnosed that Izzy was pregnant! Unsure of how many puppies I had another X ray taken to show she in fact had NINE puppies in there.
Izzy powered through her pregnancy and has overcome everything life has thrown at her. She had nine healthy puppies with a dislocated hip and the only thing left to overcome is her hip surgery.
She is not a candidate for hip replacement and the hip has fused in the incorrect position so it cannot simply be put back into place. I am asking for donations to help Izzy get moving again!
Stairs tend to be a daily struggle for her, but she's one strong momma! Any little bit will help. I hope her story will touch you as much as she has touched and warmed my heart.
