URGENT! Help win the fight with Glioblastoma and save Iwona’s life!
Our friend, Iwona Trzaskowski from Mississauga, 39-year-old loving wife of Andrzej Trzaskowski and mother of wonderful girls Ola (8yrs) and Ala (2yrs) has been fighting a malignant brain tumour for over 2 years. The medical term is Glioblastoma Multiform (GBM) currently at stage 4. The diagnosis took away the joy of life and the treatment made it impossible to be close to her infant daughter Ala and very confused and scared Ola. To experience this as a mother is heartbreaking and unbearable.
The shocking news about her disease came 3 months after Ala was born. In February 2017, after several seizure attacks, Iwona got the grimmest of the diagnoses, advanced glioblastoma. The whole world collapsed, and life became a battle with a ruthless brain cancer.
Iwona began a lengthy chemotherapy and radiation treatment at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto. This conventional medical approach stunted the growth of the tumour for about year and a half.
During this time, it was extremely difficult to live with the awareness of the disease and its side effects, however, Iwona bravely faced every single day and kept fighting her fight. She tried her best to cherish every precious minute spent with her husband and young daughters.
Unfortunately, in May 2019 the MRI confirmed bad news, the tumour started growing again. Iwona has undergone another surgery to remove parts of the tumour and yet another chemotherapy treatment. Everyone was hopeful.
September 2019, another blow….the tumour is not backing down, the outlook on survival is grim. Iwona along with her family and friends are desperately looking for new treatments offered outside of Canada. The hope comes from Poland, in the form of Nanotherapy. The Clinical Hospital No. 4 in Lublin launches a new, supplementary method of treating brain tumours, called NanoTherm. The treatment has the potential to extend the lives of patients, so Iwona reaches out to the chief of neurosurgery and qualifies for another resection of the tumour along with NanoTherm treatment.
Time is running out! The surgery can take place as soon as November, so each passing day is of essence!
This revolutionary treatment is overseen by the National Neurosurgery Consultant Prof. Tomasz Trojanowski and neurosurgeon Radoslaw Rola. The new method consists of introducing iron nanoparticles to the brain, into the area surrounding the surgically removed tumour, and heating them with microwaves. By raising the temperature locally, the cancer cells that remain after tumour removal can be destroyed or weakened that in turn makes them more responsive to subsequent chemotherapy and radiation.
To make it possible for Iwona to access this treatment the family needs to raise $75,000 CAD. Unfortunately, their personal finances do not even cut it close to that sum. Therefore, we are turning it over to the public through Go Fund Me campaign and asking for your support and show of good will. Again, time is of essence here, the funds are critical to send Iwona to Lublin as soon as possible and give her a chance to live her life…she has so many people to live for, her husband, daughters, family and friends.

Rozpoczal sie bardzo dlugi proces leczenia radiochemioterapia w szpitalu Sunnybrook w Toronto, ktory uspil guza na okolo potlorej roku.
Przez ten caly czas ciezko bylo zyc ze swiadomoscia choroby, lecz Iwona dzielnie stawiajac czolo dramatycznej codziennosci, walczyla. Starala sie cieszyc z kazdej danej Jej chwili spedzonej z mezem oraz ukochanymi coreczkami.
Niestety juz w maju 2019 okazalo sie, ze guz znowu urosl.
Następna operacja i częściowe usunięcie guza. Kolejna chemioterapia i nadzieja na pokonanie wroga. Wrzesień 2019 kolejny potężny cios i załamanie. Rokowania są złe, guz nie daje za wygrana. Ostatnia szansa i nadzieja przyszła z Polski! Lublin Klinika Neurochirurgii i nowatorska metoda leczenia glejakow NanoTherm. Jest decyzja kwalifikująca do kolejnej resekcji guza połączona z terapia NanoTherm. Czasu jest mało! Operacja może sie odbyc juz w listopadzie. Każdy dzień się liczy, żeby ocalić Iwonkę.

W wyniki tego komorki nowotworowe zostaja zniszczone lub uwrazliwione na dalsze metody leczenia.
