Please Help Isaac Continue To Fight Brain Cancer

Donation protected

Meet Isaac, an amazing little brain Cancer Warrior~
~Fighting with a smile for the past three years. Integrative cancer care has allowed him to continue this fight.

This amazing child is no stranger to overcoming adversity. Isaac’s dad is a 23 year and counting, active duty Marine. Isaac has 4 siblings-an older sister, Makenzie, a twin brother, Isaiah, a younger sister, Kylee, and a younger brother, Micah. Mom and Dad are Lynette and Jesse.

Our family has moved every 3 years-to start over wherever the Marine Corps has sent us. Isaac has autism, sensory processing disorder, and ADHD. He’s a natural born fighter.

Since 2018, he’s been fighting brain cancer. This fight is the biggest he’ll ever face in his lifetime.  After two years of treatment in the hospital, he exhausted all other traditional options. We will NOT give up and watch him deteriorate before our eyes. Integrative cancer care and alternative medications are extremely expensive, and not covered by insurance or St. Jude. Since starting integrative care, Isaac has finally gained some weight and is starting to feel more like a kid again. This is huge friends. Huge! We want to continue this forward gain, and know that we are on the right track with integrative methods. We truly appreciate all the love, help, and support from everyone.

The Day Our World Turned Inside Out~

On August 1st 2018, our lives were drastically turned upside down with the sudden and abrupt discovery that Isaac had a large tumor and multiple other tumors on his brain. After a 9 hour tumor resection, we heard the words that no parent ever wants to hear.

-It’s cancer.
Watching your child fight for their life is absolutely heart and gut wrenching. You are helpless. This is by far, the worst feeling a parent can ever imagine. The life you once knew is no more, never to be the same again after your child is diagnosed with pediatric cancer.

 The Battle Began~

Isaac was diagnosed with metastatic Medulloblastoma, subgroups 3 and 4, which is a high risk, and an extremely aggressive form of pediatric brain cancer. There were still many, many other tumors that were not able to be removed.
Shortly after arriving at St. Jude, Isaac developed a small rash. By the next day, the rash had spread, and started to blister. Isaac was diagnosed with Steven Johnson Syndrome. This is a severe, and rare disorder of the skin and mucous membranes caused by an allergic reaction to medication. Steven Johnson Syndrome causes the body to burn from the inside, out. Just two days later, his entire body was covered with blisters and open lesions. He was life flighted to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in Ohio, where he spent almost three weeks in the Intensive Care Unit. The Steven Johnson Syndrome consumed 100% of his body and was transferred to the Shriners Burn Center Hospital. He had multiple skin graphs that covered more that half of his body. He lost all ability to eat or drink and walk. The doctors were not optimistic of his survival. If by slight chance he did survive, they said he would be blind, deaf, unable to walk or talk, and have severe scarring all over his body. On September 19, the doctor came in and said “In all my years of treating patients with Steven Johnson,  I’ve never seen a case as severe as Isaac’s.” In the same breath, he also said that he’s never seen anyone ever recover as quickly as Isaac. Jesse and Lynette looked at him and said, this is the the power of prayer and a miracle.

Where Isaac is Now~

Traditional treatment and medicine broke his body.  Isaac has received as much high dose of radiation that he can have for the next 10 years and he completed 5 of 7 rounds of chemotherapy. Unfortunately, chemotherapy damaged his bone marrow to the point where he was unable to continue treatment. He still has many, tumors left, and have no treatment options at this time.  If any of the tumors grow or spread within the next few years, unfortunately, he will lose his fight to this nasty beast. Therefore, we are doing all that we can, and are working with an amazing team on the West Coast for integrative care. So far, Isaac is thriving, regardless of all the complications and issues he faces on a daily basis such as: hearing loss, adrenal insufficiency, still requiring the use of a feeding tube, dementia, gastroparesis, lack of hormone production, and many others. He is truly thriving and looks better than he ever has.

How You Can Help~

Isaac’s battle will be life long and we are prepared to do all that we can to make him better. We are seeing great results, and his body is responding well. We will stop at nothing until he is well or until he has no fight left. We won’t give up! Please help us keep fighting! Isaac is an amazing child with such a zest for life.
Please share and help us make Isaac well again. Thank you~

Please help Isaac fight brain cancer and prove statistics wrong. He is not a number, he is one amazing little boy who loves to inspire everyone around him. Thank you so much for being a part of his story. He, and all of us, are so incredibly thankful for everyone he has met, and everyone that has reached out while he has been fighting the most important fight of his life. Thank you
