Help us save Core!!!

My name is JoJo Polk. Since 2013, I have owned Core Fitness Studios. I have seen my share of hardships. While playing Arena football I was paralyzed from the waist down, and told I was never supposed to walk again. I waited in a hospital for weeks while my wife fought for her life after having our second child. I have been built to survive. And I am committed to passing that spirit on to others. But I need your help.

For two years, Core Fitness Studios has adapted to the pandemic. As a studio we hosted strictly online classes. We then shifted to outdoor classes, and then finally was able to return to the studio’s indoor facilities. Through it all, we have kept our community together and fought hard, not just for ourselves, but for other local businesses.

As we face a third year of this virus, we find ourselves in unfamiliar territory. Staying true to the mandates and guidelines of this pandemic, we’re struggling to maintain our financial obligations. Bluntly: we may not make it through 2022.

Core makes a point to give back through many organizations and through donation classes. Core is an ardent supporter of shopping locally within our community and supporting small business.

I created Core to be a sanctuary, a family, a second home for the community. Our trainers and clients have joined this vision whole-heartedly. Two principles… which if you know me, you know well:

1. Find your D.I.G: Determination, Intensity, Guts. In the gym and in life.

2. ‘It has got to mean something to you.’ At Core, we build physical fitness, yes, but also strength of mind, character, and community—the things that will get all of us to the end of this pandemic, together and beyond.

It’s what we believe in. It’s what I’m asking for your help with. Because we are all in this together. And together we are strong. And together we will get stronger still.
