Help Inkara Overcome Epilepsy

Donation protected
My name is Medina Ilyassova and, as an epilepsy survivor, my life’s goal is to raise Epilepsy Awareness and help people who face the challenge of living with epilepsy.

Together with my friends Karima Akayeva and Gertjan Verdickt, we will take part in the Amsterdam Marathon on October 21st to raise money to help a young child receive the diagnosis she so desperately requires.

Based in Kazakhstan, 21-month-old Inkara has not had access to medical specialists to help accurately diagnose her condition. The medicine she has been prescribed is not reducing her seizures and she sometimes has 10 per day!

PhD candidate Gertjan Verdickt ran the toughest marathon, the Antarctic Ice Marathon, to raise money for charities and wants to help Inkara by running in Amsterdam. Karima Akayeva is a mother of two and will be running the marathon also in support of Inkara who is the same age as her younger child.

Goal: to raise $10,000 Money will be used for:
• To send Inkara for a proper medical checkup and diagnosis at the University of Bonn under the care of acclaimed epilepsy specialist Professor Christian Elger
• air tickets
• accommodation in Bonn

The situation is extremely urgent as Inkara has started to have 10 seizures in a day and medication cannot control it. Please help us raise the funds to give Inkara a chance at a childhood without seizures.
