With a rising number of COVID-19 victims and low vaccination rates, Indonesia is struggling to contain the virus. Currently the number of cases have reached 3.5 million with a total number of COVID-19 deaths surpassing the 100,000 mark. It has made Indonesia to be the second in Asia to hit 100,000 Covid deaths after India.
The death toll has risen frighteningly fast for Indonesia as more than a third of fatalities was recorded in July alone. Hospitals and healthcare facilities are overwhelmed, while the nation is experiencing a shortage of life-saving oxygen tank supply.
